Parents and Carers

Parents and cares serve as advocates, educators, emotional supports, and facilitators of skill development for their child with ADHD. Their involvement and consistent efforts contribute significantly to the child's overall well-being and success in managing their ADHD symptoms. Please note, whilst we try and maintain our services as free access to families, depending on our funding at the time of your referral to us, some may require payment or a contribution to access.

Family at Home

Parent / Carer Support

We provide help and support to families affected by ADHD. When we receive your referral, we will complete a point of view assessment and make recommendations on how we can best support you and your child's needs. We will send you an action plan for you to book onto relevant sessions. Our tried and tested parent / carer support includes:

  • Face-to-face, e-mail and telephone advice and support - we work directly with you, as a family.

  • Provide relevant information and signpost to other organisations.

Parent

"I have found all the advice very useful and I have learned so much about ADHD. You are always there to talk through problems and you've taught us how to handle situations."

Behaviour Management Courses

Our positive behaviour management courses for parents ensure a consistent approach in and out of the home. Our courses are shown to improve school attendance, reduce lateness, and enable children with ADHD to arrive at school and be ready and able to access a learning environment. Both courses have a very high success rate amongst the families who have used it.

Positive Parenting Solutions

Positive Parenting Solutions is based on the principals of 123 Magic (created by Thomas W Phelan PhD) and recommended for children aged between 2 and 12 years of age. Delivered over two sessions, this course will give you lots of practical ideas and day-to-day strategies. We'll also share some additional resources to help with things like daily routines too.

Parenting Challenging Teens

Parenting Challenging Teens is geared towards the 13 plus age group. It is usually delivered over four daytime sessions, with an additional session for the young people themselves.
